What is Ethical Fashion?
The increased spotlight on the ethical fashion industry means more brands are beginning to position themselves in the highly desired ‘ethical fashion’ niche.
While this is excellent news, ethical fashion is not clearly defined or understood by the consumer, because different brands approach ethical production in different ways.
In a perfect world, a brand would consider human rights, animal welfare and the environmental impact at every stage of the design process and supply chain. but that’s not often the case.
According to greenhubonline.com - “Ethical fashion, for the most part, encompasses the entire production process from cotton seed to the finished garment, focusing on the fair treatment of the people at every stage along the supply chain.
At petitTembo we define ethical fashion in regards to three main pillars:
- love for the planet Earth - minimizing the environmental impact of garment manufacturing activities
- love for people - respecting fundamental human rights regardless of the location or legal system of the country
- love for animals - wear it kind. no animal is hurt or animal product used in the entire production process of our garments. we want to see animal-friendly fashion future.
